Terms of Service

Last updated: August 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of cuttingedge.shopping and your purchase of products and services from Cutting Edge Distribution ("Cutting Edge," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing our website, placing an order, or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or purchase our products or services.

1. About Cutting Edge

Cutting Edge Distribution is a Montréal, Québec-based business specializing in professional hairdressing and barber shears, sharpening services, and related professional tools and accessories.

Our website is:

https://cuttingedge.shopping

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws applicable to you to make purchases through our website.

By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal authority to use the payment method provided.

3. Products and Product Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, photographs, prices, and other information displayed on our website are accurate.

However:

  • Product colours and appearances may vary depending on your device or screen.
  • Product specifications may change without notice when manufacturers make updates.
  • Minor differences between photographs and the actual product do not necessarily constitute a defect.
  • We reserve the right to correct errors, inaccuracies, or omissions at any time.

We do not guarantee that all products displayed on the website will always be available.

4. Pricing and Taxes

All prices are displayed in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.

Applicable Québec and Canadian sales taxes will be added at checkout where required.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Price changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted and confirmed.

If a pricing or product information error occurs, we reserve the right to correct the error. If an order was placed based on a significant error, we may contact you before fulfilling the order and provide the option to cancel it.

5. Orders

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products.

After placing an order, you may receive an order confirmation by email. This confirmation acknowledges that we received your order but does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted or shipped.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order when reasonably necessary, including in situations involving:

  • Suspected fraud or unauthorized transactions
  • Incorrect pricing or product information
  • Product availability issues
  • Shipping restrictions
  • Duplicate or unusually large orders
  • Errors in the order or customer information

If we cancel an order after payment has been processed, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled portion of the order.

6. Payment

We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout.

Payment must be successfully authorized before an order is processed.

You agree that all payment and billing information you provide is accurate and complete.

7. Shipping and Delivery

We ship to the destinations available at checkout.

Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are displayed during checkout where available.

Delivery estimates are provided in good faith and are not guaranteed unless expressly stated otherwise.

Once an order has been transferred to the shipping carrier, delays caused by the carrier, weather, customs, strikes, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control may occur.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.

If an order is returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address, additional shipping charges may apply before the order can be reshipped.

For international orders, the customer is responsible for applicable customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, and other charges imposed by the destination country unless otherwise stated at checkout.

8. 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on eligible shear purchases.

If you are not completely satisfied with your shears for any reason, you may contact us within 30 days of delivery to request a return.

To qualify:

  • The return request must be submitted within 30 days of delivery.
  • The shears must be returned to us in reasonable condition.
  • The product must not have been intentionally damaged, modified, altered, or improperly maintained.
  • The product must be securely packaged for return shipment.

We may require photographs or other information to assess the condition of the product before approving a return.

Once the returned product has been received and inspected, an approved refund will be issued to the original payment method.

Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless required by applicable law or the return is due to an error on our part.

Return shipping costs may be the customer's responsibility unless the product is defective or we made an error with the order.

Sharpening Before Return

Because professional shears are precision instruments, products that have been modified, professionally sharpened, disassembled, or otherwise altered after purchase may not qualify for the satisfaction guarantee unless the work was performed by Cutting Edge.

9. Defective or Damaged Products

If your order arrives damaged or you believe a product has a manufacturing defect, contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Please provide:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Photographs of the product and packaging when applicable

We will assess the issue and, where appropriate, provide a repair, replacement, exchange, refund, or other remedy in accordance with applicable law and the manufacturer's warranty.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Québec or Canadian consumer protection laws.

10. Manufacturer Warranties

Some products may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty.

Where applicable, manufacturer warranties are subject to the manufacturer's own terms and conditions.

Cutting Edge does not make warranties beyond those expressly provided by the manufacturer or required by applicable law.

11. Sharpening Services

Cutting Edge provides professional sharpening services for eligible hairdressing and barber shears.

Before submitting shears for sharpening, customers are responsible for providing accurate contact and shipping information and for properly packaging their shears.

Condition of Shears

Sharpening is a precision service. Results may vary depending on:

  • The original condition of the shears
  • Previous sharpening or repair work
  • Damage, chips, bends, or deformation
  • The type and quality of the steel
  • The construction and design of the shears
  • Previous modifications

We will exercise reasonable professional care when handling and sharpening customer equipment.

Pre-existing Damage

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden defects, improper previous repairs, corrosion, weakened components, or other conditions that were present before we received the shears.

If we determine that a shear cannot reasonably or safely be sharpened, we may decline the service and return it to the customer.

Shipping for Sharpening

Customers are responsible for securely packaging shears submitted by mail unless otherwise agreed.

Cutting Edge is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate packaging by the customer.

12. Lost or Damaged Items Submitted for Sharpening

Customers should use an appropriate shipping service and retain tracking information when sending shears to us.

Our responsibility for items received by us is subject to applicable law and any limitations communicated at the time of service.

If an item is lost or damaged while in the possession of a shipping carrier before delivery to Cutting Edge, the customer should pursue the applicable carrier claim unless otherwise required by law.

13. Custom or Special Orders

Certain products may be special-order, customized, personalized, or otherwise obtained specifically for a customer.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, custom or special-order products may not be eligible for cancellation or return once production or procurement has begun.

Any applicable restrictions will be communicated before the order is finalized where reasonably possible.

14. Promotional Offers and Discounts

Promotional codes, discounts, sales, and other offers may be subject to additional terms.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Promotions cannot be combined.
  • Discounts cannot be applied retroactively to previous purchases.
  • Promotional offers may have expiration dates.
  • We reserve the right to correct errors or discontinue promotions where permitted by law.

15. Gift Cards

If gift cards are offered through our website, they may be subject to additional terms displayed at the time of purchase.

Gift cards may not be exchanged for cash except where required by applicable law.

We may temporarily suspend or modify portions of the website for maintenance, updates, security, or other operational reasons.

22. Limitation of Liability

The updated version will be posted on this website with a revised "Last updated" date.

Changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Your continued use of the website after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
